In March 2020 we worked with Chef Lucas Trombley of Tako Taco & Central Depot to throw a party welcoming patrons back to Central Depot & to pay tribute to some of our favorite things from the 1990's. We decided to call the party the 90's Pajama Party Brunch.
Central Depot, the host venue for the party, is a Knoxville-Centric taproom & cocktail lounge in the "Depot District" of Downtown Knoxville, highlighting local & regional beer & spirits.
Central Depot wanted to create a ticketed event that offered attendees a fun, unique brunch experience. This brunch would have 3 course-type service, stand up comedy from Alex Stokes & a constant rotation of music, cartoons & commercials from the 90's playing.
Our contribution to the 3 course-type service was bottomless cups of coffee & cereal lattes. These cereal lattes combine our powerful cold brew coffee, a choice of milk, & a choice of Cookie Crisp, Honey Oh’s or Leapin’ Lemurs cereal. We wanted to devise these lattes because one of our favorite things from the 90's is themed &/or sugary cereal. In case you're curious, we serve cereal lattes with a straw & a spoons as they are just as wonderful to eat as they are to drink.
Will Bolduc, the owner of Central Depot, put together refreshing & very appropriate drinks for the occasion, Sunny Delight mimosas the Power(ADE) Ranger.
Once attendees had their tables set with coffee, cocktails & cereal lattes, Chef Lucas got to show off his distinctive skill of bringing out the best flavors in food & producing new ideas for traditional dishes. Here's a look at the 3 courses that Chef Lucas created:
1st Course: Saturday Morning “Charcuterie” that included a house-made fruit roll up & dunkaroos
2nd Course:
Eggs Beakman
Poached eggs, Cap’n Crunch KoЯn Cakes,
Saved By The Bell Pepper Chutney, Rogue Beer-Cheese fondue, Bacon (Gam)bits
3rd Course: Captain Planet Griddled Blueberry Muffin with Basil/Mint Cream Cheese spread and Raspberry/Jalapeño Coulis
We will always be enthused to work with other teams & companies to bring all of our specialties together to create events that our supporters will remember for years to come. Especially teams like Chef Lucas & Central Depot.
Also, we need to give a special thank you to What Chefs Want! for sponsoring the 90's Pajama Party Brunch. Thank you, What Chefs Want!
