On 8/23 Redeemer Church organized an event to welcome back the University of Tennessee's students. The event ran from 9:30a to 1p, which ensured that everyone who attended one of Redeemer's three morning services could take part in the event.
Redeemer Church is located at 1642 Highland Avenue, which is walking distance from UT's campus. Redeemer offers an online signup form where anyone can register to join the Sunday morning services they prefer.
For this Caffeinated Catering service we had our tiny, mobile coffee cart outside in Redeemer's parking lot. For serving outside, all we need is a relatively flat surface & access to a standard electrical outlet. While we served we wore face coverings, regularly changed our disposable gloves & sanitized our hands. We were able to serve a variety of hot, iced & frozen coffee drinks. We brewed multiple gallons of our powerful cold brew coffee, & ground locally roasted espresso just for this event. When we serve, it's always with the freshest coffee possible that's been prepared to fit the need of the event. Plus, many thanks to the Redeemer team for providing an ample amount of hand sanitizer for everyone & organizing the layout of the event so that social distancing was easy to accomplish.
When Redeemer contacted us through our website about including our Caffeinated Catering at the event, we were exciting about the opportunity to work with them. We were even more exciting when we learned that we would get to work alongside The Wooden Spoon & Good Golly Tamale.
The Wooden Spoon is Knoxville, Tennessee's first natural shaved ice truck. During a break in our service, we took the opportunity to enjoy a Black Cherry Shaved Ice.
Good Golly Tamale has been one of our favorites for years, as they debuted in 2013 at the Market Square Farmers' Market. It was on this day though, that we got to try the Vegan Soul Food Tamale for the first time. Oh my, it is tasty. The combination of blue corn, black eyed peas, sweet potato, & collards is a big winner. We get very enthusiastic about anything that includes sweet potatoes.
